Complex Crossfade of "Misirlou"
Challenge
The producer wanted to demonstrate the Middle Eastern provenance of Misirlou in a way that young children could understand it. He envisioned a seamless transition between two recordings, and as standard editing didn’t yield good results, I was brought into the project.
Although the crossfade looked harmless at first, it involved time-stretching, re-tuning, minute track alignment and finally narrowing of the stereo field.
